HISTORY
Our history runs deep
Founded in 1959, we have been promoting and protecting the well-being of advertising. AAF Polk includes members across all disciplines and career levels in advertising.
1905
The American Advertising Federation formed as the nation’s oldest advertising industry trade association.
1949
The Advertising Hall of Fame began as an event to honor & celebrate industry legends with remarkable achievements.
1959
The Silver Medal Award was established to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising locally.
1959
The Advertising Club of Lakeland was granted Charter of Membership from the American Advertising Federation.
1995
The club was incorporated as a 501(c)6 Not-for-Profit Business Organization with the name Imperial Polk Advertising Federation.
1973
The American Advertising Awards started as the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition.
2010
The Imperial Polk Advertising Federation was registered with the State of Florida as a DBA under the name AAF Polk County Florida.
2021
During this time the American Advertising Federation rebranded and introduced the new AAF logo, now used across the nation.
